A little over a week ago I was asked by an organisation called 'Trust Pilot' to comment on the service that I received from 'Your Digital Home'. I was please to do this then because I thought it outstanding. I found communications from them, if anything, 'over the top' but of course at the same time reassuring. The method of tracking of order was as simple as it could be The promised delivery schedule was timed to within an hour, I thought this over optimistic as I live in rural Somerset, but no, the Humax box was delivered smack in the middle of the one-hour time slot! Following delivery more emails arrived confirming that ‘Y.D.H.’ were on top of events. The service could not be faulted. With regards to the Humax box, it is early days as yet, however, so far I am very please with it. Installation came down to, in my case, disconnecting the sat. cables from the Sky box and installing them in the Humax box. The Humax box then does the rest, just follow the very straight forward on-screen requests – job done! In my opinion the capabilities of the Humax box exceed that of the Sky box, I like the menus and options that are offered especially regarding selecting High definition transmissions. The ‘driver’ in opting for the freesat service is of course that there is no charge and having to get by on basically a national pension this really does matter me, however, as said there appears to be no downside to the switch, so in modern parlance it’s a ‘no-brainer’.
The service from Your Digital Home, from ordering the product, through to delivery, was excellent.
The machines setup was made easy. The picture is excellent. The 4 star rating only, is due to the what I and other members of my family find as an overly fussy and sometimes confusing program guide.
Machine despatched very quickly. Unfortunately mistakes made by the carrier (DPD), but not to reflect on YourDigitalHome or Humax. Machine set up is as easy as switching it on.
Prompt delivery and easy to set up. We are well pleased with this machine and still learning. Already recommended company to family member as very pleased.
Firstly the 'Digital Home' service is second to none. The Humax was ordered on a Friday and received two days later on the Monday!
As regards the Humax Foxsat HDR 500GB it is in a league of its own compared say with Sky both from the point of view of features to the quality of the picture. Highly recommended!
This HD Receiver / Recorder does everything it says on the box. It's functionality is better than Sky HD+ and its screen info is clearer and better. The only place Sky is better is in the ergonomics and clear buttons on the Sky remote control. Your Digital Home gave me a great price and efficient delivery.
